Contemporary Abstract Artist | Oil Painting
Minh-Quan Duong is a French-based contemporary artist born in Vietnam in 1974 and raised in France. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Cergy, graduating with honors in painting. After several years away from professional practice, he returned fully to painting in 2024.
His current work centers on abstract and organic compositions shaped by movement, layered structures, color, and the tension between spontaneity and control.
Artistic Approach
For Duong, painting is both a mental and material construction, built through gestures, choices, layers, and transformation.
Working primarily in oil, he develops complex visual environments through successive layers of color, texture, space, and depth. His compositions move between the organic and the imaginary, balancing freedom and precision, instinct and intention.
The paintings invite the viewer beyond the surface into an open space of imagination and personal interpretation.
Art in the Interior
Duong’s paintings bring depth, movement, and sophisticated color into contemporary interiors. Their organic forms and layered compositions create a strong visual presence while remaining open and atmospheric.
His work is particularly suited to modern, minimalist, and eclectic spaces where art is intended to become a central element of the interior.
