REFLECTIONS OF SELF
“Reflections of Self” reflections of identity, perception, and the inner self
The title refers not only to a literal reflection, but to the many ways in which we see, question, and reconstruct ourselves. Here, the face becomes a mirror of inner experience fragmented, shifting, and never entirely fixed.
This expressive work explores the complexity of identity through overlapping faces, geometric forms, and intuitive lines. Delicate watercolor washes contrast with stronger graphic elements, creating a sense of movement between vulnerability and strength, clarity and uncertainty.
In Nik Kruglove distinctive visual language, the human figure is rarely presented as a simple portrait. It becomes a psychological space a combination of memory, emotion, contradiction, and self-observation. Kruglov works at the intersection of contemporary figurative art, Cubism, Surrealism, and Expressionism, using fragmentation not to destroy the image, but to reveal its different emotional layers.
Reflections of Self invites the viewer into an intimate visual dialogue about self-perception and inner truth: who we believe ourselves to be, how others may see us, and how many different versions of the self can exist simultaneously.
