The title comes from the Latin Pluralitas Animae, which can be translated as “Multiplicity of the Soul.” The intertwined faces reflect different states, memories, and inner voices that coexist within a single person.
In Nik Kruglove distinctive visual language, Cubist fragmentation, Surrealist imagery, and expressive line transform the portrait into an exploration of the complexity and many layers of human identity.
This original work is created in mixed media using watercolor, acrylic, marker, and pastel on handmade cotton paper. The expressive texture, natural irregularities of the surface, and deckled edges of the paper are an integral part of the artwork and emphasize its unique character.
