In Mental Constructions, the same figure appears at different stages of an inner struggle. One looks into a shattered wall that reflects a bricklayer, while another climbs a ladder to break through barbed wire and release butterflies into the sky. A broken clock and a grieving figure evoke the weight of the past. Moving from darkness toward light, the painting explores the difficult but hopeful process of rebuilding oneself.
